Exciting start!

Things are really starting to move here, we have some exciting starts to good things, as we have been learning the art of patience and waiting for a while, and what it is like to see many, many plans fall through. Today at a luncheon for the dispersing of CATS (Central Asia Theological Seminary) we got to interview Ali and Nguyron, who were working with CATS, about their experiences and changes that they saw. While we were eating my head was starting to hurt ("my" being Amanda) and I felt on the back of my head a small lump, I tried to pull it off and scratch it, but it would not move. Then finally after a few minutes of this I got the "lump" off, only to see in my hand a small insect-looking thing with an orange body and black legs. We were both a little freaked out by this, and after looking on the internet to see what it was, we found out that it was the body of a tick. Which meant that the head was still lodged in my head, but we looked up the diseases that could come from it and it takes about a week for the incubation period, so for now I am fine, I just have the head of a tick in my scalp! But on to more cheerful things! Today after the luncheon we put an add in the Almaty internet news for our english club that we will be starting on Wednesday and will be running run 3 times a week, once in the morning and once at night. So pray that people will come and be ready to learn and that we will have ample oppurtunities to share His word. Also yesterday we spent the day hiking in the beautiful mountains that border China. We ate and hiked with people from the Alpha and Omega church and our wonderful roommate! It was a great day of fellowship and a time to enjoy the culture of Kazakhstan.
